The creche program for the children of women prisoners was started in the year 1999 with the funding of the Central Social Welfare Board, New Delhi for the first two years. With the permission obtained from Inspected Genral/Additional Director General of Police (Prisons), our organization had been conducting counseling for convicts/remand prisoners in the male and female prisons of Central Jails in Trichirappalli, Salem and Coimbatore. Committed teachers of our organisation teach the children the alphabets, moral stories, rhymes and numerals. Nutritious supplementary food are provided to the children. New Life mobilizes toys and play materials to bring enjoyment for the children inside the prison campus. Books are also given. On selected festival days like New Year day, Independence Day and the Republic Day, cultural programs and sports are conducted for the children.
Starting from the year 2004, four ELC(Early Learning Centres) centers are run in Ariyamangalam, Uppuparai, Kaja Nagar and Kaja Pettai the urban slums of Tamilnadu.
Nutritional supplement is given to the children. The learning is made enjoyable to the children by adopting a syllabus of topics encountered by the children in their day-to-day life. Physical and mental health of the children, mothers and pregnant women in the target community are taken care off. The target population is given awareness on sexual infections, family planning, childcare, child psychology, legal rights, etc. The women in the area are organized into groups and are trained on various income generation activities.
