The project provides skill training
to 100 dropped out, ex-child labourers above 14 years in 5 centres/batches in
and around 30 Kms of Trichy District. Since 1998 New Life facilitates special schools for
rescued child labourers. Children who cope up with
studies are sent to regular schools. Some are weak in studies and don’t cope up
with others. These children drop out of schools and become labourers
again. They are paid low wages, exploited, vulnerable to evil forces and are
abused. To see that they are not
abused, this project was inaugurated on 6th March 2019 and the
batches were conducted in Musiri, Kajapettai and Nagamangalam. The
programme was funded by the Education Quality Foundation of India and by
individual donations. The project was completed by October 2019.
